Batman Birthday, Fireworks and Zoo Trip

Friday was L.J.'s first Water Day at school this summer. His class time got rained out so his teacher let him go out with another class since he leaves earlier than the other kids who would get to go out after naptime. He loved it. That afternoon we met Aunt Barb and the Ohio crew over at mom's for a little more swimming. That night I decorated the house after L.J. went to bed and Jay went to Lloyd's for a poker game.

Saturday was the big party day. I picked up the cake that morning and L.J. about drove me nuts to take the characters off the top. The party went great. We had little Batmen/Batgirls running everywhere, played one game, had a pinata and ate lots of food (compliments of Dave and Janie). We all hung out at the house for the rest of the day and then Mom, Dad, Christy, the boys and us all went to watch the fireworks over Eagle Lake that night.

Sunday was a lazy day. We cleaned up from the party and then went to swim at Corey's for a while. When we got home L.J. rode his bike for a while and we all called it an early bed night.

Today L.J. and I went to the Lowry Park Zoo for the grand opening of the Koala Exhibit with little Bundaleer the Koala. I blogged about the zoo on one of my scrapping sites and they invited me to come today for free admission to the event...I still spent too much on the rides, but at least we didn't pay to get in. I was going to buy the unlimited ride pass but the girl talked me out of it at the ticket booth because they thought it was going to rain soon and she knew they would be closing the rides when it did. Guess what? It didn't rain until almost 1:00 after I had already spent too much on tokens to go on the rides. L.J. LOVED the new water log flume ride Gator Falls so we went on that twice and got soaked. He played in the water for a while too before we left.
