Monday at school L.J.'s class carved a pumpkin and just like at home he wouldn't touch the gooey insides. Tuesday he spent the day with Janie and I had cleaned and cooked since I had a Board meeting here that night. Wednesday he went to school and then we had to go back later in the day to pick up his pictures. I was so happy with the way they turned out. He is laughing smiling in each of them.

Today is Mom's Birthday - Happy Birthday Mom/Nana!!!!
We have been busy getting ready for the parties tomorrow. First we made red velvet brownies. L.J. stuck around helping (measuring, mixing, etc.) long enough for the first batch to be done and then he escaped upstairs with a couple in a bowl while I finished up the rest. The brownies will be for his class party tomorrow and the party we are going to tomorrow night so we made a bunch of them. Then I also made some pumpkin rollups (sundried tomato wraps with cheese) and spider peanut butter crackers for his classroom. I was feeling all food creative today after my disasterous try at making mini caramel apple pops earlier in the week...bad idea.
This week has also marked the end of a good thing I think. When we first moved in we put one of the doorknob safety covers on L.J.'s bedroom door so he wouldn't wander out at night (and trip down the stairs). But...since then we've never even had to consider it a worry because he would literally sit in his bed until we went up and opened the door. Well now he figured out how to take off the cover and is bringing it upon himself to come downstairs when he wakes up in the morning. The bad thing is that before he may stir, but he would lay there and go back to sleep. Now as soon as his eyes open he is out the door...MUCH EARLIER THAN USUAL. Ugh. Oh well, we knew it would happen sooner or later. He's just growing up.
here's a few layouts from this week...
