Happy Birthday to Dad (aka Papa)!

First off we have to wish Dad a Happy Birthday today! He joins the world of senior citizen discounts - Woohoo! Love ya Dad!

Ok...recap since my last post. Thursday we did swimming and then ran errands to get some more party stuff. L.J. went to the Ducars that night and I walked for what seemed like forever. I have discovered it's not the walking that is bad at all. It's the time it consumes and the way it gets boring after about the 1st mile. I am definitely going to start hitting some walks with other people.

Friday we did Gymboree and then went shopping a little since L.J. was actually being ok in the stores. That night L.J. and I went to eat at mom and dad's while Jay finished up a grueling week of staining, sanding and sealing the pine boards to go on the ceiling on the lanai. He worked every night last week on them.

L.J. stayed with mom that night so I could get up Saturday and walk and then go to our Juniors Installation Banquet. We had brunch food and awards at Sheila's house. It was nice, but hot until we went inside. I got the President's Appreciation Award and Perfect Attendance. I was also installed as the new Corresponding Secretary. This will be my third time doing that, but I just love working with the newsletter.

That day Jay, Corey and Jody did an awesome job putting up the ceiling boards. It looks really good and hopefully will keep the bugs away more than the white drywall did. That night Dave, Janie and Nana all came over and brought Chinese food to our house. We had a nice dinner and they got to play with L.J. for a while.

Sunday Mom and Dad came over for brunch for Father's Day and then Mom and I filled goodie bags while Jay and Corey extended the sprinklers in the back yard and Dad added more seats to the sandbox area. I have such handy men in my life - it's so nice! Dawn, Jody and Kaleigh stopped by and L.J. had a ball running around with Kaleigh. Mom and I also cleaned out L.J.'s closet and pulled out all the 2T and 3T shirts that Christy sent him in the packback boxes. He has a completely different wardrobe now. His other shirts were getting so short because I swear he's grown 2 inches lately.

Last night we went to Dawn and Jody's for burgers and brats. L.J. managed to color on the halfway wall outside and the garage floor. PAPER ONLY!!!! He just doesn't get it sometimes. Kaleigh pushed him on the big boy swing for a while too and he loved it.
