Happy Birthday L.J.!!!

With a quiet afternoon at home, we passed the time by practicing some sight words and made sentences with them.

06.14.10

Dress Like Your Dad Day at school. L.J. was super excited to wear his fishing gear and he even let me put a little mustache on him with my eyeliner.

06.15.10

Today I made the mistake of surfing the web for recipes and ended up on Pioneer Woman's site. That made the menu for the night include onion straws, homemade mozzarella sticks, corn fritters and Oreo cheesecake cookies to go along with the already planned mini turkey meatloaves. YUM!!!!

06.16.10

Tonight we went over to Dave and Janie's to celebrate Father's Day with Dave early. We had some chinese food and L.J. helped Dave open his present of new tennis shoes.

06.17.10

Happy Birthday to Dad! L.J. went with Mom, Dad and Grandpa to Texas Cattle Co for dinner and then stayed with them for the night. Jay and I went to the Juniors Poker Tournament which turned out to be a great fundraising night for us!

06.18.10

L.J. and I went today to see Toy Story 3...it was soooo cute!!! Afterwards we went out to Corey and Jenn's for L.J. to swim with Brooklynn while we waited for the guys to get back from helping Mike and Lacy move. That night we all went over to Jo-Tos Japanese Steakhouse for dinner. After dinner L.J. and I headed home while Jay went frog-giggin' for a while.

06.19.10

Father's Day!!!!! Jay woke up to L.J. excited to give him his gifts. We had gotten him some new Columbia shirts but L.J. was most excited about the framed handprint he made for him at school that he wrapped himself. Then we spent the rest of the day being lazy at the house. That night we went over to Grandpa's for a family dinner with everyone. Aunt Barb broke out the table and we all got massages too :)

06.20.10

Monday L.J. woke up with irritated eyes, but he seemed ok to go to school so he dressed in his Spongebob PJs for Pajama Day and headed out. It was a quiet afternoon again and Jay rushed home to try and get the yard mowed before it rained. He got most of it done, came it while it was lightning and then finished up in the dark.

06.21.10

Happy Birthday to L.J.! My poor pumpkin was still having eye issues, but he completely forgot about them once we let him open one present...The Riddler action figure. That one completes his collection of Batman villains for now. We took donuts into to school for the class and his teacher made him a paper crown and gave him a birthday certificate with candy. That night we met Mom, Dad, Dave, Janie, Aunt Barb and Grandpa at Chilis for a birthday dinner. He got lots of cool toys and was a little freaked out when the staff brought out dessert and sang to him. It was pretty funny.

Wednesday was his 5-year checkup. He was 68.8 lbs and 46" tall which puts him at the 100th percentile and 95th percentile respectively for his age. He also failed his hearing test on the left ear so we got a referral for that.

06.23.10

Thursday after work I finished up birthday party shopping, came home and cleaned house for a bit, caught up on laundry and then continued on my Couch to 5K program.

06.24.10

Friday L.J. woke up complaining about his ear hurting...bingo...maybe that's why he failed the hearing test. So we went to the dr. first thing and got him some antibiotics and ear drops. He immediately felt better so we went out to spend the Toys R Us gift card that was burning a hole in his pocket. We spent the afternoon at mom's house waiting for the boys to get here. Once they did we went and saw Toy Story 3 again with them, Christy and Mom. Jay went over to the casino to pass the time away.

06.25.10

Party day!!! We spent the morning at Family Fun Center with family and friends. The kids got to play in Funtasia and then had pizza, cake and presents. L.J. really enjoyed it. We spent the afternoon at mom's swimming and hanging out while Jay went with Corey to a funeral. That night once Jay got back we ate dinner at mom's and then went to Eagle Lake to watch the fireworks at the hometown celebration.

06.26.10

Today Jay went fishing in the afternoon with the guys and L.J. and I hung out at the house while he played with all his new toys. He just needed a chill out day and didn't want to go anywhere (but I did get him out to Walmart for a bit).
