First time!

Yeah, yesterday after weeks of just sitting L.J. on the potty and nothing happening, he finally peed! It's so funny what gets you excited as a mom. He actually did it twice yesterday too. I know it's just the first step, but it's a step in the right direction anyway. I was clapping and cheering and he just looked at me like "what's the big deal?".

Our quick trip to Target provided another word for the list I'm keeping of what he can say. I had to get more swim diapers so I was standing there deciding what size our chunky butt needed and he started saying "Dora" as plain as day. He kept on and on, even after I handed him the Elmo (which he can already say) ones. Sorry the Dora ones were pink so I wouldn't get them. He said it the rest of the day too when he saw her or wanted to watch her. He had been saying something that sounded like it before, but this was very clear now.

He was a little stinker at Gymboree yesterday because I wouldn't let him have the marker they had on the table. It was Bear day and they were pretending to climb bear mountain, rescue bears out of a tree, jump into a lake and eat fish and the hide and seek game was with little bees which they had to bring back to the "hive". It was very cute. He pitched a pretty good fit about the marker about halfway through class until it was time for the Gymbo dance which he loves to do.

Last night was Daddy night. Since it was raining they stayed home, ate pizza and colored. I went to paint pottery for our Mom's Night Out. We went to a new place called Art Gecko. I made a plate for L.J. that has the jolly roger on it and says Captain L.J. Arh!. I will post pics of it when I pick it up next week. My camera batteries were dead so I didn't get to take any pics. I finally bought a new charger and batteries yesterday, but they weren't fully ready when I left last night.

After pottery we went to Applebee's for desserts. It was so funny when we walked in - a group of 7 moms that were clearly older than most of the people in there. That is definitely the younger crowd hangout now. We had a great time sitting there talking and freaking each other out about stolen credit cards, robberies, and freaky things on the news. We laughed a lot!
